Children’s Parents Parenting Classes
A 12-week parenting class for parents of children birth to age 25. Children of the parents can also attend child classes to learn behavioral and emotional management and resiliency skills in Orange County. (Alamance and Orange Counties)
Parent Aide Services
Parent aides are trained professionals who assist parents under stress and those whose children are at risk of abuse or neglect. Parent Aides spend 1-2 hours with the family per week and families average 13 months in the program. Respite Services
Crisis and planned temporary childcare support for families at risk of child abuse and neglect. (Alamance and Orange Counties)
Adolescent Parenting Program
An in-home case management program for teens who are 19 years old or younger and pregnant or parenting for the first time. Peer groups and field trips are offered to the enrolled adolescent mother and fathers to help build skills, provide support, and provide education to assist with educational and health outcomes. Adolescent Parent Support Program
Intensive home visitation support for young parents up to age 24 to help with life skills, parenting, and job placement. Peer and educational groups are also offered in this program to the young parents to help learn life skills. (Alamance)
Juvenile Mentoring Services
Mentoring support for at-risk youth ages 8 to 19 years. Volunteer mentors are matched with youth to increase social support. Peer groups are offered for the mentees and their mentors to help build pro-social skills and increase community attachment. (Alamance)
Parent Teen Solutions- Group
A 14-week parent and teen class with classes held weekly for two hours in the evening. Parents learn parenting tips to help with teenage development and behavior and teens learn pro-social and life skills. Daycare for younger children is provided. (Alamance and Orange Counties)
Parent Teen Solutions-In Home
In-home counseling support is offered to families with at-risk teens and their families for a minimum of 3 hours a week and up to 5 months of services. (Alamance and Orange Counties)
Intensive Family Preservation
An intensive 4- to 6-week in house visitation program for families who are at high risk for children being removed from the home due to childhood trauma. Individual and family counseling is provided for 10 hours a week for 4-6 weeks. IFPS Specialists are available 24/7. (Alamance, Orange, Chatham, Person, Caswell, Guilford, and Randolph Counties)
